Where we’re headed
Some super thinking courtesy of Da Binks:
So-called Progressive Anglicans are sincere about their new religion, and about eradicating a living and orthodox classical Christianity. We must love Christ and our wayward brothers and sisters enough to rebuke & warn; and then to pay them the serious compliment of taking them seriously enough to excommunicate them, and set about the work of rebuilding the ruins. To use modern psycho-babble terms, we must stop the addictive behaviour, cease our co-dependency and enabling of the self-absorbed Anglican Left. It is a costly kindness, but to do otherwise is not love, nor the Lord’s commandment on erring members of the church.
Or let me put it another way – sometimes the most loving thing you can do for someone is to tell them that they’re wrong, then stop humouring them and pretending that it’s still all OK and we’re all still friends. Or better still, listen to Iris Murdoch who wrote, “Only lies and evil come from letting people off”.
